Thank you for attending our Bible class today. Sorry we cruised through the material so fast, however I really wanted to make sure we looked at each section. I thought I would get us started with a continuation of our discussion referencing 1 Timothy 2:1-7 reading, the last reading. Table discussion:
Why should we pray for our earthly rulers?
What does God desire for them and for all people?
How might such prayers advance the cause of the Gospel?

Enjoy posting.
Karen :)

God commands us to pray for our leaders.
God's desire is for everyone to be with him in heaven.

Public prayer vs 1-7 (for public and officials) really in today’s politically contentious world, would be for Democrats and Republicans to pray for one another. Having said that, we actually might look at the elected officials and pray for the country😊.
St. Paul said to pray even for corrupt government (and Timothy was one of his special students even under Nero and it couldn’t get much worse for Christians).
God desires for this end…that all “men” to be saved and come to the glory of God, and our prayers should reflect that fact.
Praise Christ in whom “ALL WISDOM is PERSONIFIED”.
