The text begins with a question. In summary, the "these things" referred to is the struggle between good and evil/right and wrong that we occurs around us and within us each day.

Most people sense "the struggle is real" on at least one level. Some Christians struggle with the struggle. Mistakenly they feel they should be insulated from the struggle. After all, they are God's chosen. This misunderstanding leads them to question their faith and God's love.

The text doesn't offer what we want to hear, but rather what we need to hear. God is at work in EVERYTHING, even the "these things," for the good of His own.

How can we be sure? This promise is often forgotten when we hurt and are afraid. Where does the text point us? Where do we look for evidence of God's graciousness when we are struggling and uncertain?

What are some of the "these things" you have experienced?
How through faith...and time have you been able to see God working good in them?
There are more "these things" on the way. How will your faith-led insights help you?
